Key Club College Scholarships

Our Kiwanis club raises funds for Montclair High School, New Jersey students to honor their commitment to service during their time in high school. Collecting gently used footwear in September & October we aim to raise money from every pair donated during our drive in the month of September. Along with funds raised through the shoe drive we accept donations here.

Key Club Sponsors

Our Kiwanis club liaises with the Key Club student adviser, attending a couple of the meetings throughout the year. We are currently sponsoring the following Kiwanis Key clubs: Montclair High School in Montclair, Passaic Academy of Science and Engineering (PASE).

Food, Essential Items & Back to School Drives

Throughout the year we organize drives at local stores, online & through community outreach to collect food, essential items, back to school supplies, books etc and share with Toni’s kitchen, Human Needs Food Pantry, Mutual Aid & other groups who seek our support in times of need. see more on our Blog

Blood Drive

Our club along with the Commonwealth Club & with the support of the Township of Montclair hosts a Blood Drive at the Commonwealth Club, to benefit NYBC. This year we held a successful drive on April 25th, 2024 collecting 45 pints.

Sponsorship

This year we have begun working with other community groups and assist their programs through sponsorship from funds we have raised from events we organize or collaborate on with community members. We recently supported the YMCA of Montclairs Safety Around Water program in May & July 2024.

We are also working to support Adopt a Mountie dorm package again this year for a couple of students in their program.

We are partnering with Laptop Upcycle who work to provide laptops to meet students need in the communities around us. We will help facilitate their [email protected] program beginning this summer/fall season.

Project Graduation Cookout

Three years ago we brought back a long ago tradition of our club partnering with Project Graduation for Montclair High School. In the past we cooked breakfast as the students returned from a night out celebrating their graduation at a secret venue organized by the parent group Project Graduation. An updated version has us grilling hotdogs & handing out cheese quesadillas made earlier that evening to the hungry, newly graduated MHS senior class before they pile onto the buses whisking them on a tour of town as they head off to an evening of fun at some unknown location. A 30+ year long tradition in Montclair. Class of 2023
